Former SUNY Broome Player Keeping His Dreams Alive
Lloyd Saunders played for the SUNY Broome men's basketball team during the 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 season. While at SUNY Broome Saunders helped lead the Hornets to a MSAC championship in 2010 as well as becoming the first ever recipient for the Dick Baldwin Student-Athlete Award in 2012-2013.

After graduating from SUNY Broome, Saunders took some time off of playing basketball to establish his basketball program in which he founded in 2013 called "Mr. Lloyd's Basketball". He has serviced over 100 at risk inner-city youth all over New York City. His mission was to save lives one jump shot at a time and to teach life skills using basketball concepts.

Now he is getting back to what he does best, playing basketball and doing it at a high level. He has since traveled back to the Broome County area to train and prepare his body to play professionally overseas. With the help of current SUNY Broome men's basketball head coach King, Lloyd is hoping to land a contract with a team in Madrid, Spain. Saunders will be traveling to Spain in February and play until June of 2016. His goal is to invest his salary he earns in Spain into his basketball program he founded in Brooklyn. His goal is to keep children of the streets and on the basketball court and ultimately a college classroom. We are proud to say that Lloyd Saunders is defeating the odds and stopping at nothing to achieve his dream.
