Men's Basketball Team Falls In Syracuse

Broome traveled to Onandaga CC and fell to the Lazers 85-80 in a MSAC contest on Tuesday night. The Lazers came out of the gate strong and opened up their biggest lead early in the 1st half outscoring the Hornets 22-11. Broome responded with contributions off the bench and cut the lead to 1 at the half 37-36. The Lazers again opened the 2nd half outscoring the Hornets 23-10 to take a 60-46 lead. Broome fought back over the next four minutes to close within 2 but didn't have quite enough to overcome Onondaga's lead in the closely contested finish.

The scoring for Broome was led by a big 28 points (19 in 2nd half) from James Saunders (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) to go along with 11 rebounds. Chris Smith (Queens, NY/Newtown) contributed across the board with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. William Mason (Rochester, NY/James Monroe) added 16 points and Adolphus Butts (Harlem, NY/James Hubert Blake) put in 12 points, 9 boards and 4 assists.

Up next is another MSAC against Cayuga CC in Auburn scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
