Men Fall To NJCAA Region III's 4th Ranked Team

The men's basketball team lost their final regular season game of the year Wednesday night in Watertown to Jefferson CC in OT 96-91. Both halves were played very close, as each team outscored the other by 2 in either session. Jefferson led at halftime 41-39 and The Hornets won the second half 44-42, leading to an 83-83 tie at the end of regulation.

Although both halves were so close, they both had different feels. The first half scoring went back and forth as neither team would lead by a high margin. In the second half the Cannoneers would build a 13 point lead early on which Broome would battle back from in the games final 10 minutes. In a hard fought OT session, Jefferson outscored the Hornets 13-8.

The second half charge was led by an aggressive William Mason who finished with a double-double, 24 points and 10 rebounds and Chris Smith who ended the night with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Matthew Bowman and Logan Vibbard came off the bench and contributed big minutes with Bowman finishing with 12 points and Vibbard playing great defense on Jefferson's best player. Also in double figures for the Hornets were James Saunders with 10 points, 5 rebounds and Dashown Nelson with 10 points.

The Hornets end the regular season 13-11 overall and 5-7 in the MSAC.
