Women Fall To Nation's 7th Ranked Team

The women's basketball team dropped a MSAC contest to the NJCAA's 7th ranked Onondaga CC, 82 -63 on Thursday evening in the Baldwin Gym. What started out as a lopsided game in favor of the Lazers, turned out to be a closely contested game over the final three quarters. Onondaga got out to a 32-15 at the end of the first quarter but from that point on Broome was able to battle the visitors to a 2-point game, 50-48. The win for Onondaga was their 100th straight Mid-State Athletic Conference win.

Graci Standish-Warpus led the Hornets with 19 points to go along with 4 rebounds. Ana Farahane and Courtney Petticoffer turned in double-doubles, Farahane with 10 points and 12 boards and, Petticoffer added 14 points and 10 boards. Broome hit a season-high 16 assists in the MSAC game, Farahane had 6, Petticoffer and Standish-Warpus chipped in with 4 apiece. Sophomore forward, Morgan Deland led Onondaga with 23 points.

Broome will host Cayuga CC on Thursday evening in a MSAC game in the Baldwin Gym, scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
