Hornets Pour In 92 Points On The Road Against Onondaga

The men's basketball team scored its highest point total of the season en route to a 92-77 road victory Thursday.

The Hornets had a balanced scoring attack, and were also very impressive on the defensive end in the first half, limiting the Lazers of Onondaga CC to just 24 points. Broome took a 39-24 lead into halftime.

Connor Green tallied his third straight double-double, finishing the contest with 23 points and 16 rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end. Green provided many momentum-shifting buckets in the second half. 

Jean Senatus continues his dominance on the inside to start the season. He scored 20 points in this one, shooting 9-11 from the field. Senatus scored on back-to-back possessions with under two minutes left in the game, the second being a powerful dunk that put the Hornets up by 14 with 1:15 left to play. 

Freshman point guard Axell Camacho-Cintron was strong in all aspects of the game, both defensively and offensively. He finished with 18 points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks. Camacho-Cintron was 3-5 from the three-point line and 5-5 from the charity stripe. 

Freshman wing Antonio Maria continues to attack the basket and get paint touches for the Hornets. Maria finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal for Broome. 

As a team, Broome shot very efficiently from the field and from the free-throw line, succeeding at a 59% and 80% clip, respectively.

The Hornets will be back in action this Saturday on the road against Cayuga CC. The game is set for an early 11:00 a.m. tip off.
