The men's basketball team traveled to Corning CC on Wednesday for the final game of the regular season and won 77-71.

After trailing 43-37 at halftime, the Hornets outscored the Red Barons by 12 points in the second half to pick up the win away from home.

The Hornets had a stellar shooting night as a team, connecting on 46.6% of their attempts from the field, 40.0% from three-point range, and 81.0% from the free-throw line. Broome turned the ball over just five times while forcing 12 Corning turnovers.

Axell Camacho-Cintron exploded for a game-high 22 points. He added five rebounds and three assists. Conor Holland was next with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jean Senatus added 11 points.

Quavir Coleman totaled 10 points and 3 steals, a game high. Connor Green just missed another double-double with 8 points and 11 rebounds.

The team was looking to clinch a postseason berth in the MSAC tournament with a win in this game and a Finger Lakes loss to Cayuga. However, after the Lakers beat Cayuga 81-77 in an OT thriller, also moving to 7-7 in conference, they received the final spot in the conference tournament by way of a tie-breaker over Broome.

Thus, the Hornets end their season, but on a strong note, improving to 11-14 on the year and reaching .500 in MSAC play at 7-7. This marked an 8-win improvement in the win column from last season to this season, and the first time that Broome has finished .500 in conference play in over 12 seasons.

This was an excellent season in terms of growth for the Hornets who continue to build their culture as a high-level program, notching multiple wins over nationally-ranked opponents and playing a schedule with strong competition all season long.
