The men's basketball team visited Fulton-Montgomery CC on Saturday and was defeated by a final score of 110-73.

The #10 nationally ranked Raiders of Fulton-Montgomery outshot the Hornets from the field, from three, and from the charity stripe on their way to the home victory. The Hornets posted 36 team rebounds, but were outrebounded by 12. Another significant statistical difference leading to the final score was that the Raiders tallied 34 assists as a team compared to Broome's 13.

After a 51-28 halftime deficit, the Hornets put together a much stronger offensive second half, scoring 45 points in the frame, but their initial hole ended up being too much to overcome.

Connor Green led the Hornets in scoring, continuing his hot offensive streak down the final stretch of the season, with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Antonio Maria was not far behind for Broome with an all-around game of 12 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Quavir Coleman was another Hornet in double figures with 11 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds.

With the loss, the Hornets move to 10-14 overall and 9-12 in Region 3 play. Broome sits at 6-7 in MSAC play and has an opportunity to clinch the final spot in the MSAC tournament with a road win on Wednesday at Corning CC and some help.

The Hornets would need a final conference win over Corning, improving to 7-7, and a Finger Lakes loss on the road against Cayuga in order to clinch the postseason berth.

Both Broome vs Corning and Finger Lakes vs Cayuga tip off at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
