Four Sophomores were recognized on Wednesday night and each played key roles in an 84-65 win over Cayuga CC.

Sophomores Jean Senatus, Joseph Miller, Cassidy Williamson-Chin, and Jordan Thomas were recognized prior to Wednesday's game at home against the Spartans. It was the final home game of the regular season for the Hornets, as they will finish with two more games on the road as they look to chase a postseason spot.

Miller took control of the special moment on Wednesday, leading the Hornets in scoring with a game-high 24 points. Miller shot 9-13 from the field and a scorching 6-10 from three-point range. He also added four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Senatus was third in scoring for the Hornets with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. Thomas pulled down four rebounds and scored a bucket in his time in the game. Williamson-Chin affected all areas of the game, scoring 7 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, collecting 2 assists and 2 steals, and playing lockdown defense.

Conor Holland and Quavir Coleman added 10 points each, while Connor Green added 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Broome improves to 10-13 on the season, 6-7 in conference play, and 9-11 in Region 3 play.

The Hornets hope to finish the season strong on the road with two victories and earn a spot in postseason play. Two more wins would bring their Region 3 record to a .500 11-11, allowing them to qualify for the Region III Championship Tournament. A 7-7 mark in MSAC play would give the Hornets the potential to earn the #4 seed in the MSAC Tournament. As the standings sit now, Broome would need to win their final conference game, and Finger Lakes would need to lose their final conference game for the Hornets to qualify for the MSAC tournament.

Broome travels to #10 Fulton-Montgomery CC at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and then visits Corning CC at 5:00 p.m. next Wednesday.
